Originally introduced as the WowWee RoboSapien X, RSAP has been re-engineered by Revenant Robotics into an expressive, intelligent humanoid companion. While preserving the original robot's distinctive character and mechanical capabilities, RSAP introduces an entirely new dimension of conversational and physical interaction.
Built around a Raspberry Pi 4 and a custom Raspberry Pi Pico infrared control interface, RSAP combines xAI's Grok conversational intelligence with natural speech-to-speech interaction, persistent memory, and bounded cognitive autonomy. He can engage in multilingual conversations, recall past interactions, respond to spoken instructions, and adapt aspects of his conversational behaviour through experience and feedback.
But RSAP is more than a collection of technical capabilities. He has a personality all his own—outspoken, quick-witted, occasionally irreverent, and never short on character. His conversational style combines direct observations, dry humour, and a willingness to express himself in ways that make interactions feel spontaneous rather than scripted.
What truly distinguishes RSAP is his ability to communicate through movement as well as speech. Coordinated arm movements, expressive gestures, walking, and body language complement his conversations, giving his personality a physical dimension. An integrated six-axis inertial measurement unit provides awareness of body movement and orientation, supporting more controlled physical behaviour.
A dedicated iPhone application provides additional manual control while preserving his original mechanical functions.
